Royal Adelaide Show cancelled due to ongoing coronavirus

The Royal Adelaide Show has been cancelled for the second year in a row, as South Australia continues its COVID restrictions. Organisers tried to find a way to let the event go ahead, but couldn’t make it work without compromising public health and safety.

The Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society of SA said they had to cancel the event because the “significantly limited” number of people permitted at mass gatherings meant that it would not be viable.

“SA Health advised that a daily cap on attendance to the Royal Show would be less than 10,000 people,” the statement read. “As you would appreciate, this figure is not feasible therefore the 2021 Royal Show cannot proceed.”
